MBIX mailing lists are now available

We now have MBIX mailing lists available for MBIX members’ use. Subscription to all except News requires moderator approval. We hope these lists will be useful to the MBIX membership. Suggestions of how to make them more functional or useful are welcomed.

Bill St Arnaud emphasises Internet Exchange Points’ importance

One of Canada’s more prominent voices advocating for the future of Internet technology is Bill St. Arnaud. Today he posts on his blog saying that Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and Content Distribution Networks (CDNs) are major factors in the future development of the Internet. The reasons he mentions are the same thoughts behind MBIX.

IPv6 Enabled

MBIX now has IPv6 access. This is working for web and email now, we are interacting with the v6 internet. Always use DNS to follow our current IP address, but you should be able to ping us at 2605:e200:2:2::50.

First Public Meeting

Come join us to discuss and provide input into the future of the Manitoba Internet Exchange. The meeting agenda will include membership, committees, policy and facility options for locating equipment.
